Vogue 100: A Century of Style at Manchester Art Gallery

Directly from London’s National Portrait Gallery and completely free – this is for all you fashionistas on campus! This exhibition celebrates the eclectic range of fashion, beauty and portrait photography that has been commissioned by British Vogue over the last 100 years. Vogue 100 gives you the opportunity to see over 280 exclusive prints from the Condé Nast archive, many of which are unpublished and have never been seen before.

Fashion & Freedom at Manchester Art Gallery

As part of 14-18 NOW, a 5 year programme which creates and commissions extraordinary arts experiences to mark the centenary of the First World War and connect people to this integral part of our British cultural heritage. Fashion & Freedom celebrates the social mobility and emancipation of women during WWI and explores the ways in which this is represented through changes in fashion, style and trend.

Manchester Literature Festival

Manchester Literature Festival (MLF) began in 2006, following on from Manchester Poetry Festival. Its programme is packed with inspiring literary events and lots of live literature from well-known authors, poets and academics, including Jeanette Winterson, Anthony Horowitz and Margaret Atwood.
