Music venues 

The University’s very own Student’s Union building is home to the Manchester Academy venues. Over Manchester Academy’s 25 years it has played host to Nirvana, Oasis, Manic Street Preachers, and many more iconic bands.

Further towards the city centre there are plenty more places to see live bands, whether you want to watch live jazz bands in Matt and Phreds or want to see the world’s biggest acts perform in Manchester Arena

Pubs and bars

The pubs and bars in Manchester vary to suit every taste, occasion and budget. From the infamous £2 cocktails in the Font bar to higher prices and even higher views at Cloud 23, there’s something for everyone.

If you went to the events during Welcome Week, you might have had an introduction to some of the many clubs in Manchester.
